The Brief

One of Ireland’s hallmark brand names, Newbridge Silverware needed to take the next step with their website and make it mobile responsive. Newbridge is growing, and with their current brand ambassador Naomi Campbell, they are reaching new markets globally. They also wanted to boost their conversion rate while keeping user experience as the primarily focus. And Newbridge wanted to be deeply involved in the process, which we at Matrix welcomed. This kind of cross team work ensures that the final result is truly the best outcome for the client- and that is always our goal.
Newbridge Silverware has produced stunning jewellery, homeware and giftware since 1934. They create pieces that combine artistry, heritage and practicality, and they needed their ecommerce website to reflect their historic place in the Irish imagination. They also needed the functionality and capacity to show off the incredible range of their product lines. Collaborating with such a creative powerhouse was an amazing experience for us here at Matrix. Newbridge Silverware has a strong visual ethos, and we enjoyed working in close partnership to bring their vision to their ecommerce shopfront.

The Solution

Working closely with the team at Newbridge, we created a bespoke browsing experience with a strong focus on UX. We developed a custom check out experience, and incorporated a customer account area with easy access to the order history. We also gave the site a very personal touch. Customers can order certain pieces of jewellery and other gift items to be engraved when they order online. The website shows which portion of the item can be engraved and offers a choice of fonts. But the bit we’re really proud of is the preview function. Customers type in the wording they want and choose a font, then see a preview of how the finished item will look.
Newbridge needed to be able to accept multiple payment systems on their ecommerce site as well as to sell and redeem gift cards, and we delivered these capabilities. We integrated in-house EPOS and warehouse management systems to monitor demand and supply for thousands of products. The end result is a powerful online selling platform, designed around the user and crafted to attract an international audience to this fantastic brand.
