The Brief Secto is an Irish telecoms and engineering company with a network of global partnerships. The company needed to improve its own communication channels, and Matrix helped by designing and developing a new best-in-class website. The project was a design-led close collaboration from our first UX workshop. We assessed Secto’s immediate and long-term goals of rebranding, presenting its complex services, refining its content strategy and communicating effectively with prospective clients. Through an iterative process, we offered a series of website design concepts, and Secto chose a dynamic approach with bold illustrations and fonts, subtle microinteractions and a high-contrast visual branding palette. We enhanced the user journey by turning the website into a learning hub. Our content team rewrote all content — explaining the Secto brand and the telecoms industry as a whole through a prominent blog section, and a breakdown of services. The project was a tailored iteration of our Digital Spark programme, that incorporated SEO training, and we also created a slide deck using the new website’s visual language, for the team to use in sales presentations. The website is also a new opportunity to finally showcase Secto as a team — we have included quality photos of staff interacting with each other and in the field with clients, as well as highlighting Secto’s valued company culture and customer service excellence. Secto is a leader in the telecoms industry, and now its new website is a powerful communications platform.
