The Brief

Internationally renowned pianist Yvonne Collier needed a vibrant site to sell high-quality recordings of her winning accompaniments to other musicians, and Matrix had all the key elements for this grand design.

For years, students and fellow musicians had been asking Yvonne for recordings of her accompaniments to complement their own playing, which inspired her to launch Piano Soundz. We delivered an eCommerce site of note that can display, preview and sell hundreds of accompaniments of songs for voice, strings, woodwind and brass. From classical sonatas to Elton John classics to Baby Shark, users can find their chosen piece on a fully responsive site with chic visuals and easily navigable content.

With such a varied collection, the site needed a harmonious User Experience (UX), and we composed a sophisticated and clear format that bursts with rich visuals, without sacrificing content. The menus provide a frictionless flow with intuitive categories for styles and instruments. To bolster trust, the site presents Yvonne’s extensive music achievements — which we developed as a menu on piano keys as an added flourish.

Yvonne’s conversion rate has greatly increased, and more importantly, the site is a valuable resource in the music community. More and more musicians are connecting with Yvonne, and she is able to provide them with expert accompaniment for any occasion. This is one project that really ended on a high note.
