Matrix strikes Gold and Silver at the Irish Digital Media Awards
It’s happy Mondays all round for Matrix as two of our client projects picked up Gold and Silver at the the 2026 Irish Digital Media Awards over the weekend.
We headed to the ceremony in Dublin on Friday with four nominations across two projects. We came home with two awards and plenty to celebrate.
GoCar took Gold for Best App, while ESB Networks‘ Weather Watch picked up Silver for Best Use of Data & Insights.
Did someone say GoldCar?
GoCar is going places, and on Friday night it drove off with Gold for Best App.
The award recognises GoCar’s innovative approach to car-sharing, making it easier for customers to access vehicles directly from their smartphones, without the hassle of physical keys.
Our team at Matrix designed, developed and continues to maintain the app, working closely with GoCar to make the whole experience as simple and convenient as possible.
There’s a lot of clever technology behind making something feel this easy. It’s fantastic to see all that hard work recognised with a top award, and a huge congratulations and toast to the GoCar team.
ESB Weather Watch takes the awards by storm
There was another bright spot in the forecast on Friday night, with ESB Networks’ Weather Watch taking Silver for Best Use of Data & Insights.
Weather Watch helps young people get to grips with the relationship between weather, energy and the world around them. It takes a subject that can get pretty complicated and makes it interesting, accessible and fun to explore.
Matrix worked with Real Nation to design and develop the Weather Watch website, and the project certainly caught the judges’ attention.
Weather Watch received three nominations in total, also making the shortlist for Best Use of Content / Native and Best Tech and Innovation.
A brilliant achievement for everyone involved. Clearly, the outlook for Weather Watch is bright.
A great night for great teams
The Irish Digital Media Awards celebrate some of the best digital work happening in Ireland, so it’s particularly satisfying to see two very different projects recognised.
Both projects started with ambitious ideas and clients willing to back them. We’ve loved working with GoCar, ESB Networks and Real Nation to bring those ideas to life.
Congratulations to everyone involved, including our own talented Matrix teams who put so much work into these projects.
