In today’s ever-shifting digital landscape, cybersecurity is a growing necessity. As cyber threats escalate and privacy concerns intensify, the need for robust digital defence mechanisms is more critical than ever. In the shadow of these concerns all over Europe, we at Matrix Internet are thrilled to share our involvement in Digital4Security, a groundbreaking pan-European cybersecurity master’s program funded by the European Union.
Launched in October 2023 with a series of workshops at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica of Bucharest, Digital4Security is a four-year, €20 million project created by a Consortium of 35 Partners from 14 countries.
It is dedicated to equipping European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and companies with comprehensive knowledge in cybersecurity management, regulatory compliance, and technical skills.
The primary aim of Digital4Security is to protect economic prosperity and foster long-term competitiveness and growth throughout Europe. The programme will continually adapt and evolve to counter current and emerging cybersecurity risks.
In the words of Romanian government minister Tudor Prisecaru, “Cybersecurity is a global concern that affects all citizens, from individuals to businesses, large organisations, and national security”. This programme gives students an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of cybersecurity.
Matrix Internet will collaborate on creating a transformative cybersecurity master’s programme that will address the growing skills gap in European industries and public sector organisations. The programme will offer a unique blend of academic accreditation and industry certification, ensuring graduates are equipped with the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge and skills. Matrix is collaborating directly with DIGITALEUROPE on Work Package 5: Dissemination & European Impact.
Digital4Security will reskill and upskill graduates, professionals, managers, and business leaders, empowering them to enhance their cybersecurity infrastructure and incident prevention and management procedures. Graduates will fill high-demand roles outlined in ENISA’s European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF), contributing significantly to the security and success of European businesses.
“With D4S, we have academia, industry, and the European administration in one integrative approach, which is already changing our view on the topic of cybersecurity,” says Florian Frank, Digital4Security Project Lead at the University of Digital Science in Potsdam, Germany.
Horacio Gonzalez-Velez of the National College of Ireland emphasised the significance of the Digital4Security initiative in securing Europe’s digital future, stating: “Our mission to forge the next generation of ‘cyber-confident’ leaders and experts is in full swing. With a curriculum tailored to today’s cyber threats and tomorrow’s challenges, we are building a digital fortress for European businesses.”
This partnership marks the beginning of a four-year journey towards a highly innovative, successful, and sustainable European cybersecurity master’s program. As Brian Cochrane of Brussels-based Consortium Partner Schuman Associates notes: The Digital4Security launch event in Bucharest marks the start of our four-year journey towards a highly innovative, successful, and sustainable European cybersecurity master’s programme.”
Matrix Internet is committed to contributing its expertise and resources to support the Digital4Security project in building a more secure and resilient digital Europe. This partnership aligns with Matrix Internet’s mission to provide cutting-edge solutions that help businesses thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Stay tuned for updates on our involvement in Digital4Security project as we work together to create a safer and more secure digital environment for businesses and individuals across Europe.
